Ronaldo Linked to Manchester City

Ronaldo was consistently linked with a move to Eastlands during the last month of the transfer window, but manager Mark Hughes reportedly opposed the deal due to the striker's well-documented fitness issues.

The Sky Blues announced themselves as the biggest predators in the player market when they purchased Robinho for £32.5million from Real Madrid following their September 1 takeover by Abu Dhabi United Group.

The Arab investment firm are determined to transform City into the world's greatest club and have granted Hughes permission to chase the likes of Fernando Torres, Cesc Fabregas and Ronaldinho, among others.

Hence, it has been speculated that Ronaldo's potential move to the City of Manchester Stadium is off altogether as the club, with ADUG's backing, can now lure top-drawer talent rather than has-beens.

However, the former Real Madrid superstar revealed that the Citizens are still very interested in acquiring his services, meaning a January move could be on the cards.

“It is the best offer I’ve received and it will be very interesting to play with Robinho,” Ronaldo, who is currently training with Flamengo, said in The Sun.

“Me and him together — we can score more than 50 goals and I like the project that City have presented me.

“They want to make the club one of the best in the world — and I certainly feel that I can help.”
