Bent: We're Heading For Big Trouble

Big things were expected of Spurs this season after a summer which saw them part with over £67million in a mass restructuring of the playing squad.

However, the Lilywhites' pursuit of the Champions League has become an escape from the Championship during the early part of the campaign, as they sit dead last with just one point in four games.

Such struggles are perhaps to expected considering the wholesale comings and goings over the off-season, especially given the departure of star strikers Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane.

But Bent is worried that the team could become trapped in downward spiral if they don't pick up their game over the next few weeks.

"We've signed a lot of new players and it takes time for them to gel," the England forward told The Sun.

"But we need to get it sorted sooner rather than later because if we carry on as we are, we're going to be in big trouble.

Bent added: "It's early days and I'm sure we'll get it right. But we need to do it quickly.

"We are bottom of the Premier League with one point and people are expecting results now."
