Abidal Out, Henry Back In

There’s little time for Barcelona to reflect and dwell on dropped points after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Racing Santander as the team now have to shift their focus to the Champions League.

Coach Pep Guardiola has announced his squad for the game against Sporting Clube de Portugal on Tuesday and although there are some changes to the side that was summoned for the Racing clash, there are hardly any surprises.

The only real glaring omission perhaps, is leftback Eric Abidal. The Frenchman has been left out for technical reasons, as have youngsters Sergio Busquets and Víctor Sánchez. Alexander Hleb has also been excluded, ofcourse, due to the ankle injury he suffered at the weekend league game.

In their places, Guardiola has recalled Sylvinho, Thierry Henry, Rafa Márquez and Martín Cáceres. The latter three were all rested against Racing mainly because of their hectic involvement with the World Cup qualifiers the week before but they will return to re-energize the team.

Squad List:

Valdés, Pinto - Dani Alves, Márquez, Puyol, Piqué, Cáceres, Sylvinho- Xavi, Keita, Iniesta, Touré, Gudjohnsen, Pedro - Messi, Bojan, Eto'o, Henry
